03: County-equivalent

As always, procrastination somewhat eroded the quality of my work, but this time I tried to be a little more literary. So I present you:

The Tale of Count Equivalent

a Poem

There once was a count, all righteous and fair.
'Count Equivalent' was his title to bear.

Loved by subjects, respected by peers,
that's how he lived for many long years.

But then came a fiend, much money he wanted,
so the count's daughter he kidnapped and a ransom he prompted.

The count was fast to provide, brought the money in full,
he valued his daughter, for her the moon down he would pull.

But the fiend's desire for chaos remained unfulfilled,
so the money he took, but the daughter he killed.

The count was now filled with righteous rage,
so he sought to once more pull the fiend onto the stage.

He sought frantically the place, where the fiend's family lived,
where he soon later with a weapon arrived.

The fiend was a father with a child still so small,
so the count took the fiend an pinned him to the wall.

'You took my child,' he said with a trembling voice,
'So I'm taking yours, you gave me no choice.'

The count swung his sword, the fiend shuddered to the core,
but his child's head was connected to it's torso no more.

The fiend had no right for his anger to vent,
for the count traded fairly, he took the equivalent.

And thus dear readers ends this gruesome tale,
the moral being: 'Those who get greedy are doomed to fail!'

Well, this one starres another seriously bad pun, but I think that's already canon on this blog. Once again this is also a contribution to the "10-Click Madness"-Collab, but I don't seem to be able to bring up the motivation to do anything else lately.
